Kayak Elkhorn Slough Ocean and Harbor
02/09/2013 Saturday 8:30 AM to 3:30 PM
Most of the marine mammals in the Elkhorn Slough are concentrated in and around the harbor at Moss Landing. The tour begins and ends in the harbor with the sight of the largest raft of Southern Sea Otters anywhere, up to forty otters. Hundreds of sea lions and harbor seals haul out in this area. If the conditions permit, we will also take a short cruise out of the harbor and into the bay waters to look at whales, dolphins, or other marine creatures. After a short break we will paddle or sail our kayaks back into the marsh to look for birds or other wildlife. Bring a lunch, water, and a sweater.
