Have fun with your hula sisters as you learn the captivating and graceful dances of Hawai'i and Tahiti! This five week class will explore both the foundation of hula as well as the infectious drums of Tahiti. This class is open to all skill levels and will include Polynesian language and culture (men welcome). The instructor, Lorraine Kinnamon grew up in the islands and has studied Polynesian dance in Hawai'i as well as Tahiti. Lorraine is part of the island community in Santa Cruz, having taught for the past 12 years as well as directing a dance troupe in the county.
