Site templates
UC Santa Cruz offers HTML/CSS templates to help you easily create web pages whose content and design conform to UCSC Web policies & standards.
Please do not alter the basic "look and feel" of these templates, as doing so will only produce a local web site that is not integrated into the overall UCSC web presence, making your site more difficult for people to use. More reasons to use the web template.
Before you begin
- Review the UCSC web policies.
- Establish a location to publish your site.
- Determine your site's content and architecture.
Instructions for template use

Download UCSC templates - HTML, CSS, and image files, including PSD template:
Please note: These files do not include graphic and HTML software applications, FTP programs, fonts, tutorials or other elements that you may need to create your site.
NEW: Create the top banner for your site online.

A list of changes is available to assist you in upgrading your existing templates.

- Insert your site content into the template. Please do not alter the basic "look and feel" of these templates. Assistance is available by contacting the Communications & Marketing web developer who can answer any questions you may have. Please also contact Communications & Marketing if you have questions about the acceptable use of these templates.
- Check your pages for errors. For checking validity of links, Firefox has a link checker plugin.
- Join the UCSC Web Coordinators group to receive additional assistance and important information about changes to template resources.
