Campus community donates blood

Members of the campus community rolled up their sleeves on October 11 to contribute to a blood drive by the Santa Cruz chapter of the Red Cross.

The drive in the College Eight student lounge was open to members of the campus community only--not to the general public.

The Red Cross is asking that people make appointments to give blood at any of its drives. To make an appointment, please go to: www.beadonor.com.

The Red Cross is also advising people to allow plenty of time, as crowds of people attending their drives who have come to donate blood since September 11 have extended the donation process time to between 1 1/2 and 2 hours.

If you would like further details, please contact Cynthia Carlson, at the American Red Cross (email: carlsoncy@usa.redcross.org).

The Red Cross is also accepting financial donations, and you can mail them to the American Red Cross, 942 Lupin Drive, Salinas, CA 93906.
