Anthropology Department hosts colloquium

The Anthropology Department will be hosting a special Anthropology Colloquium focusing
on the "Events of September 11th and their Aftermath." A faculty panel
will discuss the attacks and provide anthropological perspectives on the events and
their impact.
The faculty panel will feature:
- Richard Randolph, Department of Anthropology. Professor Randolph has conducted
fieldwork among the bedouin in the Middle East and will provide an anthropological
perspective on the conflict.
- Edmund Burke, Department of History. Professor Burke, a Middle Eastern specialist,
will provide historic context for the attacks and continuing conflicts in the Middle
East.
- Triloki Pandey, Department of Anthropology. Professor Pandey will speak about
British colonial policy in south Asia and its relation to the appearance of terrorist
groups.
- Other invited guests.
All anthropology undergrads are encouraged to attend and share their thoughts.
