William G. Wells

William G. Wells Jr. has joined the Chancellor's Office as a special assistant/senior adviser on a part-time basis during this academic year. He will advise in the area of governmental relations, working closely with Vice Chancellor for University Relations Ron Suduiko and Chancellor Greenwood to identify opportunities for UCSC to have greater impact. He will collaborate with faculty and administrators on organizational and operational improvements that will strengthen the campus's competitiveness on the state and national levels. Wells will also explore the potential for developing UCSC as a regional resource in the education of project managers.

Wells is a professor of management science (emeritus) in the School of Business and Public Administration at George Washington University. In addition to his academic background, he has a long and distinguished history of service in Washington, D.C., in a variety of staff advisory capacities in several White House administrations and federal agencies, including the Office of Science and Technology Policy. He has served as a consultant to corporations, nonprofits, and governmental agencies.
