Research
into the circulation of water through the ocean floor has led to the discovery
of inflow and outflow points for a vast seafloor plumbing system. The
work led by UCSC's Andrew Fisher is described in the February 6 issue
of the journal Nature, and has implications for the study of heat
flow in the ocean and organisms that live in the seafloor. More
