January 29, 2001 In Memoriam Nicholas Summer, a fourth-year student in the Dual Degree Engineering Program, died January 3 in a traffic accident near Vancouver, Washington. He was 21. Nick entered Cowell College in fall 1997 and completed a combined major in environmental studies and Earth sciences last spring. This fall he entered UC Berkeley to continue working toward his engineering degree. He served on the Cowell College residential staff for two years: as an R.A. in Adams House in 1998ñ99 and as an R.A. in Turner House in 1999ñ2000. Messages of condolence may be sent to the Cowell Provostís Office for forwarding to Nickís family. A memorial service will take place on Sunday, Februrary 11, at 11:30 a.m. at the Cowell Provost's House. A barbecue will follow the service.
