The use of Web Server Names (e.g., unitname.ucsc.edu) in the UCSC domain is regulated by the campus's Public Affairs and Information Technology Services units. Public Affairs has the authority to authorize, deny, or reclaim the use of Web Server Names; ITS is the unit that implements those decisions. This Web Server Name policy was developed by the campus's Web and Portal Readiness Committee in recognition of three principles:
