Carole R. Rossi's Biography
Carole R. Rossi has served as University Counsel in the Office of General Counsel, University of California since 1999. She currently serves full time as Chief Campus Counsel at the University of California, Santa Cruz, where she handles a wide variety of legal matters on behalf of the campus. She served as Deputy Campus Counsel at the University of California, San Francisco campus in 2003-2004, and was counsel to UC Agriculture and Natural Resources in 2005-2006. Ms. Rossi is also a current member of the UC Office of General Counsel Educational Affairs Section.
Ms. Rossi graduated magna cum laude from San Francisco State in 1976 and then class valedictorian from Hastings College of the Law in 1988. After completing a one-year clerkship for Chief Judge Robert F. Peckham in the United States District of California, 1988-1989, she practiced at the San Francisco law firm of Hanson Bridgett, where she represented both public and private sector employers in employment and labor litigation, and handled a general employer advice practice. She has also served in the litigation section of the Office of General Counsel at the State Bar of California.
Ms. Rossi is a member of the State Bar of California and NACUA, and is admitted to practice in the United States Supreme Court, the Ninth Circuit and all U.S. District Courts in California.
